With a relative density of 1.3266 (20/4°C), this compound boasts an impressive profile: a melting point of -95.1°C, a boiling point of 40°C, an autoignition threshold at 640°C, and a viscosity of 0.43mPa·s at 20°C. The refractive index stands at nD (20°C) 1.4244, while its critical temperature and pressure are recorded at 237°C and 6.0795MPa, respectively. Upon pyrolysis, HCl and trace *** manifest, while prolonged heating with water yields formaldehyde and HCl. Further chlorination opens the pathway to CHCl3 and CCl4.
