Product Introduction
Epichlorohydrin (ECH) is an organochlorine compound and an epoxide. It is a colorless liquid with a pungent garlic-like odor. It is insoluble in water but miscible in most polar organic solvents. Epichlorohydrin is highly reactive and is used in the manufacture of glycerol, plastics, and synthetic rubber. In contact with water, epichlorohydrin hydrolyzes to form 3-MCPD, a carcinogen found in food.
First-aid Measures
